A few Christmas Crop pics and

an early farewell to 2009! Melissa & Michelle H. so glad

you both were able to join us. Thanks everyone and Angie
a big thank you to you as well for your surprise recipe page,
tags and stamped images. Lately, I've had the lyrics of a
recent Kris Allen song in my head and can't seem to shake
them. I've posted an excerpt:

"We gotta start looking at the hands of the time we've been
given..........If this is all we got, then we gotta start thinking.
If every second counts on a clock that is ticking....gotta live
like we're dying."
This should keep me in check to not sweat the "small" stuff,
after all - that's all it really and truly is........

Dad finally got to go

home yesterday - after 45 days...........
and on Veteran's Day which made it
even better for this Army Veteran.

He still has to do PT on an outpatient
basis, and his wrist still has to be set -
but there is truly nothing like being
home. He gets around OK, but his speech
is still not fully recovered after spending
two weeks on the Ventilator. But it will
get there.

Jeremy is doing OK as well. He also is
doing PT on an outpatient basis and we
know he will get stronger with each new
day.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this
weekend!!! It's been a long time.......

Happy Birthday Lisa!!!

Hope your special day is a good one! You
deserve it!!!!!

Monday, November 2, 2009

Just want to let everyone know

that barring any unforseen events
(unfortunately, I can't predict the future)
that I do plan on keeping the cropping dates
set for Nov. and Dec. at the Clubhouse.

Angie - we're going to miss you at
the Crop parties!!!!!!

Jeremy is progressing well at SKY and
hopefully may get to go home sometime
this week. My Dad continues to get
stronger and should also be going home
either the end of the week or very soon
thereafter.

Thanks again everyone for your thoughts
and prayers...........

Thursday, October 29, 2009

New CKC dates have

been released...... They are returning to
Louisville and Nashville again in 2010.

Louisville - Feb. 26-27

Nashville - Aug. 27-28

Looking forward to attending at least
one of these Conventions next year!!!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

I can't believe it's been

a week since I last updated......

Jeremy will be leaving Cleveland Clinic
today enroute to BG for his admittance
to SKY, for PT. He still has a long way to go
but each day will bring him the strength he
needs to get better. I know they can't wait
to get home and hug precious Mallory!!!

Dad is scheduled to be transferred to Warm
Springs Rehab. Clinic today for his PT.
A great rehab facility founded by President
Roosevelt which happens to be right down the
road from Mom & Dad. So glad to hear he is
getting stronger and hopefully he'll be home
soon.

Tristan has recovered from the Chicken Pox - thank
goodness it was a mild case and it was gone within
a few days. It seems I've heard the younger they
are when they get it the milder the case is. That sure
seemed to work in Tristan's favor.........

Hope things are going well for everyone. It's been a
long time since we've gotten together. Looking forward
to scrappin in Nov. and Dec.!!!

It seems the only

time I'm jumping on here to update my blog
is to post updates that are affecting my family
members. Unfortunately, that is our life right
now and I long for the days when we can return
to normalcy.

Bill and I headed to Georgia on Friday to see
Dad. He is getting better and stronger as he
enters his 4th week of hospital residence. On Sat.
we got a 3:00 a.m. call from Amber that Jeremy
was being admitted to the ICU. It appears his
aggresive muscle disease (Myositis) was constricting
his throat causing choking, etc. We left Georgia
on Sat. afternoon and headed home.

After much red tape, insurance calls, etc., Jeremy
was accepted as a patient to the Cleveland Clinic.
He left by ambulance last night with Amber and
Jeremy's Dad following close behind. They arrived this
morning and we hope and pray the Specialists at
the CC can give him the treatment to help him fight this
disease.

Thank you again everyone for your calls, prayers, etc.,
they mean alot and I'm truly thankful!!!

Monday, October 12, 2009

Dad left the floor

of ICU yesterday and his Ventilator was removed
on Friday. Thank goodness he did not need the
tracheotomy. He is still in the hospital but doing
much better.

I will be going down there this weekend so it
looks like I will need to cancel the crop. I'm
going to try and see if anything is available
on the following weekend. Maybe we can
get a crop in before the month is over.

Take care everyone!

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

Back in town for a couple

of days...... Update from my Mom last night -
Dad is still in ICU with the Ventilator, but it
looks like it may come out today & there is
a possibility he will not need the tracheotomy.
I'm hoping and praying he won't. I should know
more in the next couple of hours.

Depending how things go the rest of the week,
I may go back down this weekend or next
weekend. If it's next weekend - I'll be
cancelling the crop. I'm so thankful Dad is
doing better and hanging in there. He's a tough
guy and he will get through all this.

Thank you again everyone for your calls, prayers
and emails, they are very much appreciated - more
than you know!

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Jumping in for a quick update..

Dad is still holding his own in ICU. Not really able to
communicate with us - but we know he can hear us and
knows we are there with him. As bad as it seems he is-
there are good signs as well. CT scan showed no head
injuries... The broken ribs are causing major issues with
his lungs, etc., so he remains on the ventilator.

I want to thank you all for the telephone calls and
prayers. They truly mean alot and I appreciate
each and everyone of you.

Monday, September 28, 2009

Just checking in

for a quick update. Jeremy is doing much better
and should be released sometime today after his
biopsy. We are so thankful he is on the mend and
will be able to go home.

On another note my father was in a single car
accident yesterday morning. Without going
into much detail I will report that he is in ICU-
pretty banged up and has been put on a breathing
machine to give his heart a rest. At some point
either before the accident or after he suffered
a heart attack. Suffice to say I will be heading
South at some point in the next day or so, and will
more than likely cancel the crop this weekend.

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Everyone

I'd like to request a few extra prayers today
for our son-in-law Jeremy and Amber. He was
admitted Tues. afternoon and after numerous
testing, etc., it appears he has some sort of
infection that is targeting his muscles and causing
him to lose muscle mass. He is very weak, swollen and
the Dr./staff are working to bring his swelling down. At
some point he will be going to Vanderbilt for a
Muscle Biopsy.

Please keep Lisa and Terri in your thoughts as well
as Lisa's father has surgery tomorrow and Friday
also marks the one year passing of Terri's Mom.

I hope everyone is doing well and hopefully keeping
the nasty old flu bug at bay.

Take care and have a great rest of the week!

Kentucky State Fair 2009

Since it's been a little quiet - I thought I would
post a few pics from the KY State Fair. Tyler
qualified for the State Fair this year and he did
an awesome job showing his cows. The crowds
on Saturday were unbelievable. We got to the
Fairground exit around 8:30 a.m. and it took
us an hour and half to make it to the parking
area.

Hope everyone is having a great week and I
look forward to seeing most of you on Friday night!!

I was not able to post this earlier.
I want to thank everyone for the

I truly appreciate each and everyone
of you and feel blessed to have you

Rest in Peace

Farrah, Michael and longtime 2peas poster
Misty Andrews (AKA mistyinloveforever).

So sad.

And while I know we all live to die someday,
the high profile deaths of icons we used to
watch, listen to their music, etc...always brings
back memories, of another time in my life.

Just got the email from CK

that they are coming to Opryland Hotel
for a Convention, Sept. 11-12. Looks like
these dates were recently added to their
schedule. Works for me.

I'm definitely planning on going. Deb H.
forwarded her email to the group, so
hopefully we can all get together for a
road trip.

Here's the link with convention info, etc:

Scrapbooking News.....

Article on Memory Makers Mag. shutdown below:
http://www.scrapbookupdate.com/scrapnancy/2009/05/memory-makers-magazine-to-cease-publication.html

And Lisa Bearnson's exodus from QVC:
http://www.scrapbookupdate.com/scrapnancy/2009/05/lisa-bearnson-taking-leave-of-absence-from-qvc.html

I watched Lisa's final show yesterday afternoon, and she appeared emotional but handled it very well. One thing I noticed about yesterday's anniversary show was there were only 2 hours in the entire day dedicated to Scrapbooking. In year's past it was more like 8-10 hours of Scrapbooking throughout the day. The industry sure has changed. But one thing I'm sure of - scrapbooking will live on with or without the celebs.

Monday, May 4, 2009

Thanks for a great

scrappin weekend everyone! I managed to
get 22, 12x12 pages done. All they need are
the pics and to be put in albums! I haven't
scrapped that many layouts in months.

The food was great, the goodies awesome and
our stamp image swap was fantastic! Looking
forward to next year.

Again, thanks everyone for your generous
spirit and friendship!!!!

Saw this little

piece in the Daily News:

“We have things in very good shape as far as the public areas,” said Ken Russell, president of the Horse Cave Development Corp. “Anytime you have multiple locations as compared to one, you’re more likely to draw people. People like to come to clusters of shops.”So far, the organization has occupied three of the four buildings with Brandie Lynn’s, an upscale gift shop; Scrap Happy, a scrapbook store; and McGinn’s business, Fine Art and Folk Art Gallery and Gallery Donuts and Bakery - an art gallery and studio with an attached bakery.

Does anyone know who the owner is or have you been to the store? I've also found a blog link to the store, in case anyone is interested.

It's been a long night

spent at the ER tonite. Let me say first that
everyone is fine and I thank God for his many
blessings.

Christina and Zoe were involved in a traffic
accident late this afternoon - stopped at an
intersection red light - when they were slammed
by a Dodge Ram truck from behind, which
caused her to run into the car in front of her.
The back glass in her jeep was shattered and
I truly believe the spare tire mounted in the
back softened the blow to the rear end and
kept it from bending in to the back seat. That

and their seat belts. Zoe was tucked in tight
and remained that way.

Zoe was spending the afternoon w/Granny
and Papaw and after meeting Chris after work
we buckled Zoe in and kissed them Goodbye.
We headed to Big Lots when I no sooner walked
in the door and got the call every parent
dreads to hear. I could barely understand her
as she told me she had been hit and I was trying
to find out where she was - which happened to
be right up the road by the Theater. I was sick
to my stomach when I jumped out of the
car and got to the scene. A State Trooper just
happened to be on the road passing by when
he came up on the accident and it didn't take
long for the first responders to arrive.

Chris is going to be sore for a couple days but
they are both fine. I have to mention how
distraught the driver of the truck (WKU student)
was. Chris said right after the impact he ran over
to her and freaked out when he saw Zoe in her
car seat asking if she was OK, etc. He put his head
down and started heaving, he was so choked up.
He was really distraught when he saw the firemen
putting the neck brace on Chris, loading her on
the back board and onto an ambulance. I'm not
sure from where my composure came - but I
remained calm throughout the entire ordeal -
until I got home.......It was at that point it hit me
how fragile our lives are and how the routine of
everyday life can change in a split second...........

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Ok, moving on.....LOL

I didn't realize when I scheduled the crop weekend
in April it was Easter sunday weekend. Please let
me know if your not able to make it. Thanks!

Still an icon after

50 years! Since Mattel was
offering these for the same price as
a Barbie in 1959 - $3.00 - they
have been selling out everywhere.
After several calls and waiting -
I finally got my hands on one
today. I still want 2 more......

I was an avid Barbie Doll Collector
before I started scrapbooking
and gave it up to pursue that
obsession. Since then, I have sold
some but have held on to many
more. It's time to scrapbook
the collection........

that is keeping up to date with the latest "WOES" of
Creating Keepsakes. I hope they can get past these
times and get back to being a great magazine. I signed
up for a 2 year subscription last year when they were
offering them at $24.00. I know that was a bargain
basement price, and I didn't want to pass it up.........

New dates

have been added for crops. Take a look.
Also, I know several of you will be at the
Fiskars event on the 21st, but if others
want to crop on Friday or even Sat., let me
know. If not enough interest - I'm going to
cancel those dates.

Just wanted to mention

we had a great time at the Cancer Crop this year.
The attendees were down this year but in spite
of that the money raised was pretty impressive.
We missed those of you that couldn't make it - and
hopefully next year we'll all be there!!!

Friday, February 6, 2009

Oops

forgot to update Tristan yesterday. Long story short-
he had a piece of black plastic up there. It was oddly
shaped and wedged itself pretty good in the narrow part
of his nasal cavity.

Another childhood "What Were They Thinking" antic
checked off the list. We're keeping our fingers crossed!

Looks like a beautiful day in the neighborhood on tap
for today. Enjoy!!!!

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

After enjoying a great scrappin

getaway this past weekend - I'm now stressed again.....

What is it with toddlers and their fascination with their
orifices? It seems Tristan who has discovered the art of
"finger meets nose" decided to stick a foreign object in there
last night and see what it feels like coming out..... Well, it didn't
come out - and after visiting with an ENT Dr., it is still lodged and
he will undergo being sedated tomorrow to remove it. Tristan
said he put a rock/pebble up there however, the Dr., believes
it is some sort of plastic. It doesn't appear to be very large and
we were hoping he would sneeze it out or possibly even swallow
it - but so far it's still lodged.

Poor Mommy, she never did anything like this and she's just
amazed at how fun motherhood truly is........ and Granny is
a nervous wreck.........

Monday, January 26, 2009

Here we are...

the last week before the big weekend.
I'm sad to say I'm not ready....still
gathering up photos, paper, supplies,
etc. This past weekend flew by and
was filled with grand-babies and a
dear friend recuperating from surgery.
Hope your feeling better Melissa!!!!!

Looks like Mother Nature may step
in and give me a helping hand tomorrow.
Hopefully, she won't... but if she does I
don't plan on driving up an icy hill
to work and will call upon one of my
many vacation days to help me out.

Have a good Monday everybody!

Friday, January 16, 2009

Whew! Am I glad it's Friday....

Looking forward to a three day weekend off so I can
hibernate from the cold and plan my projects for our
big scrapbooking getaway.

Generally, I enjoy the cold weather but as I've gotten
older - I don't tolerate it as well. I remember my
days in Jersey and how we would enjoy all the snow,
etc. But geez, I can't even joy this cold since
there isn't snow along with it. Oh well, I'm going to
be thankful and smile - because soon..... the dog days
of Summer will be upon us. I say bring it on!!!

Just two more weeks from today and we're off on
another Scrappin adventure!!

Thursday, January 8, 2009

I know we all received

the email from Barb with upcoming
Card Class dates, etc - just wanted to
let you know, I've posted them on the
sidebar. Also, I have reserved a
few dates for the clubhouse - but
let's discuss future dates on Sat.,
if time allows. Everyone please bring
your calendars.

Saturday, January 3, 2009

Hard to believe I saw

$1.35 a gallon for gas on New Years Day in Manchester, TN -
just 100 miles south of Bowling Greeen. What a shock to
come home to $1.75 a gallon. Geez... Even in Franklin it was
just $1.53. I know this subject has been talked to death but I
wanted to vent. Gas prices south of us ranged anywhere from
$1.35 to $1.49 the week I was down visiting family in Georgia.

My 3 week break is just about over - I didn't complete several
projects I wanted to but that's OK. I'm ready to get back to work
on Monday. Crazy, I know. But I need the structure.

Have a great weekend everyone.
